Happy New Year

While the economy is still looking gloomy, CCGUnderground soldiers on with the support of buyers and sellers like you. I want to thank each of you for all of your support, suggestions, and tolerance with the occational bug. 2009 is looking to be a banner year for the site with new games, new expansions, and new technology. I look forward to working with you next year and beyond.
May God bless you and your families.

Sound the Drums of War at the Crossroads of Chaos!

Wow has it been that long since I've posted something? My bad! Part of the reason I've been a little slow to blog is because I've discovered the addiction of World of Warcraft. Yes I'm talking about the MMOPG. I've also picked up the PvP starter set that was released with Drums of War. Fun stuff!

Speaking of expansions, I've also uploaded the latest Yu-Gi-Oh set, Crossroads of Chaos. I can't say I've played YGO, but all new cards are exciting to me!

The fall is in full swing and so is CCGUnderground.com. I've made some drastic changes to the database that will allow me to add new games faster. In fact, I'm planning on adding 2 more games early 2009.

Shards of Alara

Greetings! Magic the Gathering has released a new set, Shards of Alara, and we have it up and ready for you to buy and sell!

I know a lot of people hated the new pre-releases, but personally team CCG Underground thought it was the bees knees. I liked playing all day and the opportunity to play two headed giant, both of which are missing in the new format. But at every pre-release that I've attended in the past, not only would I see the same people that I normally play locally...I would be matched against them as well! I may as well avoid the long drive and overnight stay and play them locally.

And the set? Well Wild Nacatl is going to be the one to watch for!

Updates galore!!!!

Has it been that long since I've posted an update?! Sorry about that.
There are many new changes to www.CCGUnderground.com. Most of them are internal but if you look hard (as in on the front page) you'll notice that we are supporting a new game: Naruto!

We've also added the latest YGO set, "The Duelist Genesis".

Not to mention a bunch of improvements and enhancements to the rss feeds.

Lots of work in this release to help make things faster and smoother for you to buy and sell cards.

Prerelease shenanigans

The Eventide prerelease has come and gone. I did better at this one than I have in any other prerelease. 4-0 in my flight, 2-1 in two headed giant. Maybe it's due to the fact my partner ditched me for a girl he's not even dating anymore.

Anyhoo. The event was fun, but the location was weird. Instead of it's usual location, this prerelease was held downtown. That normally would be a good thing except there was nothing to eat nearby. The staff was also unusually small. A few of our usual judges were no where to be found. And all in all the atmosphere seemed charged from the players, but somber from the staff.

Personally, I'm grateful for this being the last Magic prerelease I'll have to travel great distances to attend. Hopefully the fun and excitement will transfer to the local locations. As usual, when you are ready to buy or sell cards from this new set, www.CCGUnderground.com is your place!

Oh yeah, nearly forgot. I knew it was time to call it a day when I saw a judge at the head table picking his nose up to the knuckle. I mean, he was really digging up there. When the booger didn't come out, he licked his fingers for lubrication and went deeper. I really wished I didn't see that. But since I did, I'm wishing I took a picture to share with you :)

We were waiting for our provider to give us images for the WoW: Hunt for Illidan. We think we have found a sutible alternate and will upload the set to www.CCGUnderground.com this weekend along with MtG: Eventide

Eventide Inturupted

Howdy all!
Your normally scheduled pre-release update to www.CCGUnderground.com is delayed due to my Mrs's car failure. Subsequently, all of MY time is spent dealing with tow trucks, dealers who are failing to find the trouble, and general lack of transportation issues. I expect to be back in the pocket this weekend with a bunch of stories, both CCG related and not. Until then, have a great one!

Product Updates

First off, since I somehow failed to post it here, the Shadowmoor pre-release was a blast. The CCG Underground team came home with lots of packs and we gave them away to users on the site as thank you gifts. If you missed out, well hopefully your name will be drawn next time.

Besides uploading Shadowmoor for Magic the Gathering, we've also updated World of Warcraft with Servants of the Betrayer and Yu-Gi-Oh with Light of Destruction.

Shadowmoor is comming

I really enjoy playing at Magic prerelease tournaments. The new cards, the level playing field, the day spent with friends...all of it adds up to one fantastic day. The release tournys are fun, but lack the same spark. I guess it's because I dedicate an entire day to the prerelease experience.

My first prerelease was for Timespiral. While everyone around me were opening foil Akroma's, my hopes were raised that this timeshifted beauty would be in my pack. At least 2 people at my table opened the foil version. So imagine my excitement when I cracked my first booster pack and saw a foil, timeshifted card sitting the back. I got tingly! Then I noticed it was white. Even better! I'm holding my breath and what did I get...THIS!

And that's pretty much an indicator of what kind of cards I open in any sealed deck event. Or any booster pack for that matter.

Anyway, the CCG Underground team will be playing this weekend but next week we will have all of the juicy cards listed for you on the site. Until my next post, I hope you open better cards than I.

Didja see it?

So, the last of the changes are up and running. What do you think about the new front page layout and navigation? We are going to update the main page's center area with the latest on games and use the smaller area on the right for more...intimate messages. Check out the new looks and sound off!

Recently Viewed

There's been a change in the way the "Recently Viewed" cards show up. Now only the last 10 cards you've selected within the last 30 days will show up. Due to the changes, there's a possibility that when you select a card it will show up multiple times in the recently viewed section. This is due to the way the older items were stored. All sets that come out from here on should work without a hitch. And as usual, if there are any bugs or issues, please submit them for eradication.

Updates galore!

We've been busy. We've added cards and images for 5 sets. Magic the Gathering has Morningtide. The Spoils has the first set of Seed: Children of the Lingamorph (with images finally!). World of Warcraft has March of the Legion and Feast of Winter Veil 2007. Yu Gi Oh finally has Dark Revelations 4, Gladiator's Assult, and Phantom Darkness

We also rolled out a new nav menu to help keep the front page under control. Games like MtG and YuGiOh has so many sets that it was making the front page a little unweildly.
If you see any errors, bugs, omissions, etc. let us know right away.

...and we're BACK!

It's been a LOONG while since there's been an update and boy have things changed. Besides the entire 2007 holiday season occuring, there were some other major events at CCG Underground.

First, and probably the most important, one of the members of our dev team has decided to leave to presure his MBA. The workload of a full time job, plus school, plus helping with CCGUnderground.com, plus trying to have a social live were too much for him (as for almost any man). We wish him the best of luck and the doors are always open for his return.

With that sais, that leaves only myself as the primary developer. Thus the reason for the slow updates thus far. I place emphasis on thus far because I've been hard at work on building new tools and features that will make the site not only run faster and smoother, but allow for rapid updates of games and sets as soon as data becomes available.

As for this blog, I'll try to post reguarly and not just during significant events.
